I thought the publisher assignment wes pretty neat. I have never worked with it before. There are alot of different possibliltys with the publisher. I plan to use this in my teaching career .

Please tell me how your PPT project is going. What topic have you chosen? How do you feel about your partner? Does your partner help you work faster and better than working alone?

I believe our powerpoint is going really good. We have chosen intergrating technology into the classroom as our topic. Amy is my partner and I think we work very well together. I think my partner helps me work faster.

How far should educators go in matching the technology used in instruction and classroom activities to the technology their students use?

I believe they should push it as far as it will go.

Are online chats and instant messaging of value in the classroom? Do they add to student learning, or do they distract from “real” instruction?

Online chats could be helpful maybe for college level students. I think if the chats were used in middle school and high school it would probably be a distraction.

Are there benefits to asynchronous, text-based communication over synchronous, face-to-face communication? In what situations?

I guess their our some benefits. If the students were grouped up in pairs and they had a homework assignment due they could use text communication to help with small problems.

Does using podcasts with students really enhance learning, or is it simply a newer version of passively delivering information?

Podcasts could really enhance learning. This is the ipod generation, and I think kids would really grab hold of that.



Does videogame help develop your studying? Why or why not? Explain. What skills can you gain from it? Do you agree with the article? If you have children, would you let them play videogame every day? Why/why not?

Video games could help with studying. Kids treat it more like fun rather than a chore. Hand and eye corridantion is one thing that could be gained from video games. I agree with what the artical said. I think I'll let my children play video games everyday, but only on a time limit.

I think the delicious site is pretty cool. I'm not sure how much I would use it. I don't find myself using the favorites feature very much. I think I should give it a shot, I might fall in love with it. I think this good be really good to use in the classroom. We as teachers could save cool sites we've found, and share them with our students.

wikis

I think wikis could be very useful in the classroom. There are a lot of cool features like editing and grammer tools. I really didn't know very much about wikis, but they're really cool. Another cool thing about wikis is that its constantly changing, people are always adding and editing things. Wikis could be a neat tool in the classroom.

Peer to peer learning could be good and bad. Some kids work well in groups, but others tend to do better by themselves. I think kids now are really diverse. It would be a good idea to try it out and see what happens. I might be suprised.

The personality test was really cool I was amazed at how exact it was. It described my traits perfectly. I think it would help if you let your students take the personality test. You could learn more about them, know their strengths and weaknesses. I believe this would really be helpfull for me as a teacher.

Spreadsheet

I think spreadsheet is pretty cool. I would say it could be useful in the classroom . I'm not for sure how much i would use it though. I would use it for the gradebook, but I don't think I would use it for a material aid.

As a teacher we use spreadsheet to keep up with grades ans assignments. I think there are alot of advantages with spreadsheet over a calculator. With spreadsheet you can average alot of grades at one time and save it if you wish , I think its way better. I believe the textbook covered the functions very well I couldn't really think of anymore.

etec 24 inspiration posting

I found about Inspiration. I thought inspiration is a very awesome program to use in the classroom. You could ues inspiration With the integrated Diagram and Outline Views, your students could then create graphic organizers and expand topics into writing.

I believe things about science or history would be very interesting with inspiration they can have videos or even post hyper links to informative sites. Since teaching time is limited students could use their blogs to help each other. I believe inspiration is a very good tool to have in the classroom .

2nd week assignment part 2

I forgot to answer the last question about technology on the last blog so this is for that. Technology can be very helpful inside the classroom. You can find colleagues with interactive blogs, you can use wikis . Another thing you can so is join iEARN learning circles. I believe things shouldn't be forced. By intergrating technolgy into the classroom your students can become part of something the students can learn from each other.

2nd week assignment

What do you think about using blogs? What and how do you think blogs would be useful for education? Some people think using blogs in classrooms is a waste of students’ time. How would you respond?



I believe that blogging can be a very useful tool. Blogs could be used by teachers to help students with their homework, ther parents can also check the blog and see what their children need to to do for their homework. Using blogs would also probably cut down on paper use . I don't believe blogs are a waste of time in the classroom . Students can check the blog and post things if they need help. Blogging is a very good idea , and very helpful for use in and out of the classroom.
